UPAVIM is in my blood

There is so much to be done here. So many ways the families of UPAVIM need us. Being here, I see and feel the impact of the work we do on a daily basis. I see it in the smiles and feel it in the hugs. These women and children are in my blood now. I don’t think I’ll ever really be able to leave them.

Miss INDEPENDENCE!

This title is quite an honor; the winner represents her school, leading the way in our Independence Day marches. Competitors were selected by their classmates, one girl from each grade.

A Day at the Water Park!

The entire Reforz took a trip to a local water park in August. Trips like this would not be possible without the generosity of our volunteers who paid the bus fees as well as entrance to the park for most students. [slideshow type=”nivo” source=”{s:waterpark}” height=”612″][/slideshow]

Why are we as we are?

International Indigenous Peoples Day last month was a very special day for the women of UPAVIM, who attended the Guatemalan exposition entitled, ‘Why are we as we are?’ The UPAVIMas took the opportunity to learn and reflect, and to debate and contribute ideas about how the exposition connected with their daily lives, their personal experiences and their work, while searching for a way forward for themselves and their country.
