Expansion of educational space for UPAVIM

Children the world over have dreams for their future. Like your children they dream of being doctors, pilots, ballerinas or teachers. These Guatemalan children are smiling because they now see the possibility of turning their dreams into reality. The lives of these children are being transformed by UPAVIM’s alternative school and new English literacy programs. The dreams of these children are shared by many others in their community.

Preparations are being made to begin construction on our 4th floor.

Over the past 25 years we have grown our programs and expanded our ability to open doors to more children. We have increased our teaching force and learning resources. We have modified our programs to improve the duration and quality of instruction. Now space has restricted our ability to continuously improve and expand these dream saving programs. Sadly the space in our building at UPAVIM is being used to full capacity. So, UPAVIM has been planning for some time to expand the school by adding a 4th floor to the building.

We are passionate about this work. Building is ready to start and we’ve started purchasing some material with the initial money we have raised. Our goal is to raise $70,000 more to complete construction.

Because UPAVIM is a small organization with no administration costs, 100% of your tax deductible donation will go to the building fund. Every dollar you donate is an investment in the future of our students. Your generosity will make our school building reach upward in 2014.

Although the building fund is the main thrust of this year’s fundraising, UPAVIM needs resources for many of its projects. Please visit our donations page to learn about other programs that need help and to see various ways to send a donation. And watch your e-mail for a more detailed end-of-year report from UPAVIM. Your support makes a huge difference in the lives of many people.

Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season!

Sincerely yours,

Barbara Lorraine
