UPAVIM built and owns a local pharmacy, health clinic, and medical lab to provide proper healthcare for the community of La Esperanza. The pharmacy is run by a nurse employed by UPAVIM who treats minor injuries, injections, breathing treatments and other ailments. Medicine is either donated or brought from local pharmaceutical companies and sold at the lowest price possible so they are affordable for the community. UPAVIM's health clinic and medical lab are rented and operated by a doctor and lab technician, respectively, providing the community with basic, necessary healthcare. The lab, pharmacy, and medical clinic are all open five mornings a week.
